Jardiance is used to lower high blood glucose levels in individuals with Type 2 Diabetes. Jardiance boosts the kidney’s disposal of blood sugar through urine. Jardiane also lowers the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Jardiance is available under the generic name Empagliflozin.
Jardiance is taken orally as often as prescribed by the doctor, usually once a day in the morning. The dosage is based on the body’s glucose level, reception to the treatment, and other medications that one might be taking.
Take the Jardiance at the same time everyday with water. Drink plenty of water while under this medication. In the case of missing out on a dose, take it as soon as remembered unless close to the next scheduled dose. Otherwise, skip the missed dose and continue on the regular dosing schedule. Avoid double dosing or making up for missed doses as the body has to get used to the consistent regulation of the blood glucose levels. Jardiance has to be swallowed whole— do not break or chew tablet.
Follow any other instructions specified by your doctor or indicated on the prescription label.
